The Sri Lankan team for the Test series against Pakistan has been announced.
Colombo: Sri Lanka announced the 18-member squad for the two-Test series against Pakistan.
The squad announced by the Sri Lankan board will be led by Dimuth Karunaratne while other players include Pathum Nsanga, Oshada Fernando, Angelomethose, Koshal Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva, Commandomandis, Niroshan Dakwella, Dinesh Chandimil, Ramesh Mendis, Mahesh Thapaksana, Kason. Rajitha, Vishwafernandu, Aseetha Fernando, Dilshan Madhushanka, Prabeeth Jayasuriya, Doneeth Velage and Jeffrey Winder.
The first Test match of the series between the two teams will be played from July 16 at the Galle Cricket Stadium.
Earlier Sri Lankan team captain Karunaratne said that Pakistan cricket team is a stronger opponent than Australia because they have the ability to play Spain better.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed that despite the imposition of emergency in Sri Lanka, the series between the two teams will go on as per schedule.
