Jaspreet Bumrah takes first position in bowlers' rankings, Shaheen Shah Afridi retains third position.

Indian fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah has topped the latest ICC ODI Player Rankings.

Bumrah, who took six wickets for 19 runs in the opening match of the three-match ODI series against England at the Oval on Tuesday, has moved up five places to snatch the first position from New Zealand fast bowler Trent Bolt.

Bumrah was doing his best against Jose Butler's team as he skillfully used the new ball against England's world-class top order. Bumrah is one of only three bowlers in the top 10 for Test and ODI cricket and was at the crease earlier this month when England fast bowler Stuart Broad gave up 35 runs in an over in a Test match. Made a world record.

New Zealand's Trent Bolt is currently second only to Bumrah, Pakistan's fast bowler Shaheen Afridi is third, Australia's Josh Hazelwood is fourth and Afghanistan's sniper Mujeeb-ur-Rehman is fifth. Bumrah's new ball partner Mohammad Shami also jumped in the bowlers' rankings, with the fast bowler taking three wickets against England to move up three places to 23rd.

In this match, the captain of the Indian team Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten 76 runs but he is still a batsman.
